Yes, we're all
aware that God spelled backward is Dog. Our canine friends posses a
strong sence of spirituality that we are just beginning to
understand. But, fortunately, more folks are starting to recognize
the spiritual bond that they have with their dogs.
Mark your calendar for the first week of October and plan ahead.
During that week, you can have your dog blessed by a priest at
Washington National Cathedral in the nation's capital.
Head to the Big Apple. The Blessing of the Animals is performed
every Christmas Eve at Central Presbyterian Chruch on Park Avenue
and 64th Street in New York City
Pray with your dog, offering sincere gratitude for being blessed
with such a loving pal. Create a time each day for quiet, calm
reflection.
Get in the habbit of saying grace with your pet at mealtimes, or
give thanks as you cuddle him.
-Meditating Moments
Meditate together. Pick a
time when your dog is quiet, such as after a nap or a meal. Go to a
quiet room (turn off the phone and television), and have your dog
sit or lie next to you. Close your eyes and silently think of happy
memories your share with your dog. Clear your head of other
idscractions and focus only on your relationship with your dog.
Start with 5 minutes and gradually work up to 20 minutes at a time,
but don't force your dog to fit your schedule.
Rescorces from 50 Simple Ways to Spoil your Dog"Heaven
goes by favour. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your
dog would go in." - Mark Twain
"Lord, let me be the person that my dog thinks I
am"
"The average dog is a nicer person than the average
person."
